According to the Manchester Evening News, the player’s camp met with United officials to discuss a prospective transfer.
Rudiger, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, is one of United’s defensive targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

United is currently in fifth place, three points behind Tottenham after the same number of games, but with a much inferior goal difference.
The news will come as a big blow to United who is desperate to bring in a top central defender.
Last year, United signed Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, but the Frenchman has struggled with injuries and missed 15 matches.
Meanwhile, Harry Maguire has endured a difficult campaign, while the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are out of favour and could be let go at the end of the season.
