Popular Orlando Julius, a Nigerian highlife musician, has died. Julius died at the age of 79 on Thursday night.
On Friday in Lagos, his wife, Latoya Ekemode, confirmed his death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“Yes, my husband passed away late last night; there were no signs that death was approaching; he was not ill; he merely slept and died in his sleep,” she explained.
Julius was an afrobeat musician who performed as a saxophonist, singer, band leader, and songwriter.
“Disco Hi-Life, Ololufe, Love, Peace, and Happiness; Dance Afrobeat,” and others were among his musical records.
