Andriy Shevchenko, a former Ukraine captain, has stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position is critical in the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky could have left Ukraine if Russia continued to attack it, according to Shevchenko, but he chose to stay to defend his country and people.
Remember that the battle between Russia and Ukraine began in February and has resulted in numerous casualties.
Over differences on various political issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine.
“President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position was crucial,” Shevchenko told Sportsmail’s Jamie Redknapp.
“He had the option of leaving. He did, however, send a strong message that he intended to stay and that we needed to defend our country. This brought the Ukrainian people together. We won’t give up because he stayed with them.
“We fight for our freedom, our democracy, and our right to choose.” When you witness people on the street without arms attempting to stop a tank that is so powerful. We’re going to fight to the bitter end. “Russia is not invited.”
