At least 14 people were killed when a Ukrainian military plane crashed.
According to emergency services, the jet crashed in the south of Kyiv on Thursday.
“We’re still figuring out how many people killed,” the service said.
The collision occurred roughly 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Kyiv, amid claims that Russia was attacking various areas in the capital.
The United States and the European Union have denounced Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s military action in Ukraine, which began in the early hours of Thursday.
Putin had set three requirements for ending the conflict, including Kyiv’s withdrawal from NATO, partial demilitarization, and recognition of Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea, the Black Sea peninsula that Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
Such demands have now been rejected by Ukraine.
