César Azpilicueta has been informed by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel that he ’embodies everything the club stands for.’
Tuchel praised Azpilicueta as a great player, saying the Spaniard has been crucial from the start.
This was mentioned by the German during his pre-match press conference on Friday, before of Chelsea’s Premier League away encounter against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
“He’s always vital,” Tuchel said of Azpilicueta. “The plans are, most of the time, not longer than ten or fourteen days.” He’s been critical from the start; we had a solid connection right away, which is something any coach wishes for.”
“He leads by example, which is always a good thing to have.” He’s won so many titles and had such a successful career at the club that he’s truly exceptional. He is the personification of what Chelsea stands for.”
Azpilicueta is the only player in Chelsea history to win every major trophy available at Stamford Bridge, including the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
