ENTERTAINMENT: At the BRIT Awards 2022, Ed Sheeran absolutely smashed it

The couple, who are generally very quiet about their relationship, posed for a rare snapshot together at the ceremony, with Ed kissing Cherry before accepting his award for songwriter of the year.

Going up on stage to collect the gong, he also dedicated the award to her.

‘My wife Cherry, at the drop of a hat will come to a secluded studio in the middle of nowhere where we’ll just write song after song, thank you, you’re the best,’ he said.

The pair, who tied the knot in 2019 and share their daughter Lyra, also posed for a very rare photo and we just love them.

Ed opened the show with his hit single Bad Habits, and rock band Bring Me The Horizon joined in for a cheeky collab.

Fans were surprised by the unlikely combination but quickly won over by the epic performance.

The award-winning songwriter was one of the first to arrive at London’s O2 Arena and it wasn’t hard to spot Ed, with the blue velvet suit he was rocking.

Anne-Marie later took to the stage, and although she tripped on her way down she carried on like the true pro that she is.

Taking home the honourable album of the year was Adele with her critically-acclaimed 30.

Adele was the first superstar to receive an award, as her hit single Easy On Me triumphed in the song of the year category.

American singer Olivia Rodrigo accepted her award for best international song. She told the crowd: ‘Last year at the Brits was my first performance ever so to get this award tonight is so surreal. Thank you so much.’

Dua Lipa triumphed in the best pop and R&B, while Billie Eilish won the international artist award for a second year running and Bruno Mars, Anderson.Paak and Silk Sonic won best international group.
