Nigeria will meet Ecuador in a pre-World Cup warm-up friendly in 2022.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) acknowledged this in a statement on Friday.
The game will take place on June 2, 2022, at the 25,000-seat Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, United States.
The encounter will take place just five days after the Super Eagles square off against Mexico’s El Tri in another international friendly.
Ecuador is ranked 46th in the world by FIFA, and they made it to the Round of 16 in the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany (their second trip at football’s highest table, following their debut in the Far East in 2002).
Nigeria has appeared in six FIFA World Cup finals, reaching the semi-finals on three occasions.
