Real reason I didn’t play N’Golo Kante against Everton – Tuchel. N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder, was hurt again on Sunday and missed Chelsea’s Premier League match against Everton (May 1).

Thomas Tuchel explained why he didn’t play N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

But Tuchel left Kante out of his matchday squad against Everton at Goodison Park, despite Richarlison’s solitary goal of the game, giving Frank Lampard’s side all three points.

Real reason I didn’t play N’Golo Kante against Everton – Tuchel. Kante had a small injury, according to the German after the teams were named (via Football Daily).

“He was taken off after 80 minutes at Old Trafford and is still in pain.” It’s only a mild ailment. Tuchel stated, “Hopefully, he will be back in the next match, but not today.”

He added, “One thing is clear that N’Golo is a key player because he has outstanding, unique qualities. He’s a unique player who gives us something nobody else can. He’s struggling with consistency due to injuries, illness and this is also the reason for our bit of inconsistency.

“We have missed him for so many matches, now he’s fasting due to his religion and beliefs so maybe another reason.”

Kante will now hope to play for Chelsea when they face Wolves in their next Premier League game on May 7.
