Maximilian Oyedele, a Manchester United midfielder, has chosen Poland over Nigeria and England for his international career.

Maciej Chorazyk, the head of foreign scouting for the Poland Football Association, confirmed this.

Oyedele, a first-year scholar at Manchester United, is eligible to represent Poland, Nigeria, and England, where he was born, through his mother.

On Wednesday, he made his international debut for Poland U18s in a non-binding 2-2 draw against Switzerland.

The Anglo-Polish-Nigerian teenager could have made his Poland youth team debut sooner, but he lacked a Polish passport, and the COVID-19 pandemic added to his difficulties.

“Maxi has a Polish passport and an ID card.” Chorazyk told WP SportoweFakty, “He speaks Polish poorly but understands a lot.”

“In this case, we were near to him and kept a careful eye on him.

“I don’t think he has the choice of switching to a different representation.” He wants to be a part of our team.

“This is a versatile player who can play in both the six and eight positions.”
