Former federal legislator Shehu Sani has proposed that Taribo West, a former Nigeria international, pray for the Super Eagles ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup second leg playoff versus Ghana’s Black Stars.

Nigeria will face Ghana in Abuja on Tuesday after a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg in Kumasi last Friday.

In order to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar later this year, the Super Eagles must defeat the Black Stars.

Remember how West was chastised for praying for the triumph of former Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election?

West was captured on camera praying furiously for Tinubu at his apartment in Lagos State earlier this month.

Taribo is one of the former internationals invited to a novelty match to commemorate the All Progressives Congress, APC, national leader’s 70th birthday, according to 360 MEDIA.

Taribo took part in a match alongside ex-Super Eagles players, led by Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who defeated a Lagos squad 2-0.

Sani, on the other hand, said in a tweet on Sunday that he wishes he could nominate West to pray for Austine Eguavoen’s team before of the Ghana match.

“On Tuesday, Nigeria plays Ghana; if I propose Taribo West to pray for us, some of you will say nay,” he tweeted.
